November 3 (SeeNews) - Moldovan flag carrier Air Moldova said on Tuesday its October passenger traffic rose by 3.0% on the year to 30,553.
The highest rise in traffic last month was registered on the routes to Romanian capital Bucharest and to Moscow and St.Petersburg in Russia, the company said in a statement.
Traffic on the Bucharest route rose by an annual 23% in October, while on flights to St.Petersburg and Moscow it was up by an annual 18% and 8.0%, respectively, the carrier said.
Passenger traffic reached 321,000 in January-October this year, the company said, giving no comparative figure.
Air Moldova, the leading carrier in Moldova with a share of over 50% of the total passenger traffic in the country, operated 16 regular international routes in October, it added.
Earlier this year the carrier said it sees the growth of its passenger traffic slowing to 10% this year from 19% last year due to the global economic downturn.
