October 19 (SeeNews) - Moldovan commercial banks' loan portfolio totalled 18.6 billion lei ($1.6 billion/1.1 billion euro) at the end of September, up 51.2% from a year earlier, the country's central bank, BNM, said on Friday.
The average interest rate on foreign currency loans fell to 10.9% in September from 11.05% a year earlier. The average interest rate on leu-denominated loans increased to 18.87% from 18.61% in September 2006.
