September 23 (SeeNews) - The Moldovan central bank, BNM, sold 109.8 million lei ($9.7 million/6.6 million euro) in four Treasury bill issues on Tuesday, above its target offer of 97 million lei, as yields on all issues rose, the bank said on Wednesday.
Primary dealers placed bids for a total of 145.2 million lei worth of government securities in the auction, BNM said in a statement. The central bank, which sells the T-bills on behalf of the Finance Ministry, offered 21-day, 91-day, 182-day and 364-day T-bills.
The yield on the 21-day T-bills climbed to 3.0% from 2.82% at the previous auction on September 15. Dealers placed bids for 44.9 million lei worth of T-bills versus 23 million lei on offer.
The yield on the 91-day T-bills rose to 6.34% from 5.9% at the previous auction. Dealers placed bids for 47 million lei worth of T-bills versus 29 million lei on offer.
The 182-day T-bills yielded 10.25%, higher than the 8.44% achieved on September 15. The BNM received bids for 34 million lei worth of T-bills, compared to 35 million lei on offer.
The yield on the 364-day T-bills was up to 10.82% from 8.6% at the previous auction, as dealers placed bids for 19.25 million lei worth of T-bills versus 10 million lei on offer.
