December 28 (SeeNews) - Macedonia's December consumer price index (CPI) rose by 1.2% month-on-month, after rising by a monthly 1.4% in November, the State Statistical Office said on Friday.
Year-on-year, Macedonia's CPI rose by 6.1% in December, after a 4.6% yearly increase in the previous month, the office said in a statement.
In December 2006, Macedonia's CPI fell by 0.1% month-on-month but was 2.9% higher on the year.

NOTES: The value of the consumer basket of food and beverages for a household of four cost 11,309 denars ($266.6/181.4 euro) based on retail prices in November, compared to 10,810 denars in October. The average monthly net salary in Macedonia was 15,608 denars in October, the latest month for which figures are available.
Macedonia's inflation for 2006 was 2.5%. The government has projected consumer price inflation of 3.0% in its 2007 budget bill and a deficit of 1.5% of the gross domestic product in its 2008 budget draft.
