SKOPJE (Macedonia), December 7 (SeeNews) – The Macedonian town of Strumica will complete its gasification under a 4-5 million euro ($5.9-$7.4 million) project, to be financed by the World Bank, by October 2010, local media reported.
With this project, Strumica will become the first municipality in Macedonia with its own gasification infrastructure, Utrinski Vesnik (www.utrinski.com.mk) quoted town mayor Zoran Zaev as saying in its weekend edition.
The municipalitywill use foreign expertise to implement the project. Gas will be fed to the system via a pipeline link from the Bulgarian town of Petrich located 35 kilometres east of Strumica, Utrinski said.
Located in southeastern Macedonia, Strumica has a population of over 54,600 citizens.
