UTRINSKI VESNIK
- Macedonia's Economy Ministry has drafted amendments to the Law on Technological Industrial Development Zones, according to which potential foreign investors would be completely exempt from paying personal income tax for a period of 10 years against current 50% tax relief. The state would also offer financial aid of up to 50% of the total foreign investment.
- The Macedonian Economic Chamber will soon present a set of anti-crisis measures to the government that would be focused on the metals industry and the companies’ liquidity in general.
VECER
- The single aircraft owned by Macedonia’s flag carrier MAT, Boeing 737-500, was deregistered by the country’s Civil Aviation Agency.
- Macedonian Agency for Agricultural Financial Support and Rural Development will be accredited by the relevant EU authorities in November, which will make IPARD funds available to Macedonian farmers from the beginning of next year.
DNEVNIK
- Macedonian ferroalloys plant Silmak has restarted a second furnace, thus increasing its monthly production to 3,000 tonnes. Currently, some 230 people work in Silmak after 80 employees returned to work recently. The first of the company’s seven furnaces was restarted in July after a four-month break.
