LJUBLJANA (Slovenia), April 16 (SeeNews) – Passenger traffic at Slovenia's Ljubljana airport decreased 90.4% year-on-year to 18,364 in the first quarter of 2021, data by airport operator Fraport Group showed.
Aircraft takeoffs and landings at Ljubljana airport went down 34.8% to 2,876 in the January-March period, while cargo traffic increased by 11.6% to 2,614 tonnes, according to figures published on the website of Germany's Fraport Group on Thursday.
In March alone, passenger traffic at Ljubljana airport plunged 78.3% to 7,907, aircraft movements increased 13.6% to 1,220, while cargo transport rose 19.6% to 949 tonnes.
In 2020, passenger traffic at Ljubljana airport fell 83.3% year-on-year to 288,235.
Elsewhere in Southeast Europe, Fraport Group operates the airports in the Bulgarian Black Sea cities of Varna and Burgas.
