BUCHAREST (Romania), August 19 (SeeNews) – Construction output in Romania and Bulgaria recorded the highest monthly increases in June among all European Union member states, the bloc's statistics office reported on Wednesday.
In Romania construction output jumped by a monthly 9.3% in June, while in Bulgaria it rose by 1.5%, Eurostat said in a statement.
Construction output in the EU dropped by 3.3% month-on-month in June. The sharpest drop was recorded in Sweden, by 3.8%, followed by Portugal with 3.3% and Slovakia with 2.0%.

Romania joined the EU together with Bulgaria in January 2007. Slovenia joined the bloc in 2004 and entered the eurozone in 2007.
