November 3 (SeeNews) - Japanese logistics services company Nippon Express established a branch office in Serbia's capital Belgrade to expand its presence in Central and Eastern Europe (CEE), it said.
The company opened the branch office through its German subsidiary Nippon Express, becoming the first Japanese forwarder to establish a business location in Serbia, it said in a statement on Tuesday.
Nippon Express added that it aims to boost its sales to a variety of companies in the mobility and other industries operating in CEE.
Located in the centre of Europe, Serbia is becoming a base of operations for an increasing number of companies in the automobile manufacturing, electrical equipment, parts manufacturing and other mobility and electric vehicle-related industries due to its advantages as a production site, Nippon Express noted.
Nippon Express is listed on the Tokyo Stock Exchange and its shareholding is dominated by banks and financial institutions mostly related to the Mizuho and Sumitomo Mitsui Keiretsus corporations.
