October 21 (SeeNews) - Italian animal by-products (ABPs) and waste cooking oils recycling company Salgaim Ecologic is considering the opening of a processing plant in Moldova, prime minister Pavel Filip said on Friday.
The company is is in talks with the Moldovan government about investing in a processing facility in the country, the government said in a statement.
"We are interested in developing such services in Moldova, as recycling is a current problem and a backlog in our plan to align with European standards in this area. Moldova certainly needs outside assistance and the government will give full support in making this important project happen," Pavel Filip said.
Salgaim Ecologic S.p.A. was established in the province of Venice in 1967 and is one of the first companies in Italy dedicated to recycling ABPs into raw materials used for making soap and animal feed.
