May 29 (SeeNews) - Italian plastic products manufacturer Ondaplast has opened a 6.5 million euro ($7.3 million) factory in Subotica, in northern Serbia, the city government said.
The company will produce plastic boards, panels and industrial packaging at the factory which currently employs 20 people, the Subotica city government said in a statement on Tuesday.
Ondaplast plans to open a total of 50 jobs at the factory in the next two years, the director of the factory, Marco Fontana, has said, noting that Subotica is well-positioned, with road connections to all parts of Europe.
The Italian company will operate the factory through its Serbian subsidiary Ondaplast Balkan, the city government said.
Ondaplast produces polypropylene corrugated and extruded sheets at its factory in Longiano, in northern Italy.
