SKOPJE (Macedonia), November 27 (SeeNews) – Italian civil engineering company Euroitalia is interested in investing 14 million euro ($20.8 million) in the construction of a luxury sports, recreation and spa centre near the Macedonian capital Skopje, Macedonian media reported.
A six-floor hotel will be built on an area of 22,500 square meters surrounded by sports fields near the Katlanovo spa resort, 20 kilometres away from the capital, Vecer daily (www.vecer.com.mk) reported on Thursday.
Local authorities from the municipality of Petrovec, where the plot is located, said the implementation of the project is expected to start soon. According to them, Euroitalia has already registered a company in Skopje, Vecer said.
The cabinet of Petrovec’s Mayor Borce Mitevski told the daily in a statement that Euroitalia is one of the biggest potential investors for this project. All needed documents are in the final stage of preparation and will be sent to the Transport Ministry within ten days, local authorities added.
Petrovec is located near Skopje’s airport and has a population of over 8,000. Katlanovo is a village that belongs to the Petrovec municipality.
