January 13 (SeeNews) - Serbia's central bank expects consumer price inflation in the country to return to the 1.5%-4.5% target band in the third quarter, it said, slightly pushing back the time period it forecast earlier.
Inflation is expected to come in at around 3% at the end of 2022, the central bank, NBS, said in a statement on Wednesday.
The projection for the time of return of inflation to the target band marks a slight shift compared to the central bank's November forecast, when it said that the return will happen around the middle of 2022.
Consumer prices in Serbia rose by 7.9% year-on-year in December, after increasing by 7.5% the month before, the country's statistical office said on Wednesday.
The NBS estimated that consumer prices will hover around the December levels during the first three months of 2022.
