The Croatian unit of Swedish home furnishing retailer IKEA said it is opening its first delivery centres in the coastal cities of Rijeka and Split in July and August, respectively.
IKEA plans to open delivery centres - places where customers can pick up the goods they previously purchased online - in other cities throughout the country, the company said in a statement on Monday.
"Our goal is to make IKEA as accessible as possible to customers in Croatia. By opening two delivery centers in Split and Rijeka, we are closer to this goal," Suzana Rumbak Baretic, logistics manager at IKEA Croatia, was quoted as saying.
The IKEA delivery centres will cover an area of 600 to 1,000 square meters and employ five people each.
IKEA is due to open three new department stores in Southeast Europe in the next three years, the statement added. The locations of the centres were not disclosed.
