September 26 (SeeNews) - German renewable energy company wpd said on Monday it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) and concession contracts with Bosnia and Herzegovina's Canton 10 for the development of two wind power plants in the country.
The Cadilj and Marino Brdo wind farms will have an installed capacity of 264 MW combined, wpd said in a press release.
The value of the investment was not disclosed.
The German company will build the wind farms through its local subsidiary Vjetroelektrane Dah Planine, according to an earlier statement by the government of Canton 10.
The concessionaire will build the 138 MW wind park Cadilj in the municipality of Glamoc. The Marino Brdo wind park, with an installed capacity of 126 MW, will be developed in Bosansko Grahovo.
Bremen-headquartered wpd develops and operates onshore and offshore wind farms and solar parks and is engaged in 28 countries around the world, including Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro and North Macedonia.
Canton 10 is one of 10 cantons of the Federation, one of two constituent entities of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Serb Republic is the other entity.
