June 12 (SeeNews) - German car parts manufacturer Vorwerk Autotec plans to start the construction of a factory in Cacak, in central Serbia, in the first half of July, the city government said.
Representatives of Vorwerk Autotec signed an agreement to acquire a plot of land in the Preljina industrial zone in order to start the construction of the factory, the Cacak city government said in a statement on Monday.

"Vorwerk Autotec plans to hire about 1,000 Cacak citizens in the next five years," the city mayor, Milun Todorovic, said in a video file posted on the website of news agency Tanjug on Monday.
In April, Todorovic said Vorwerk Autotec planned to invest about 50 million euro ($58.9 million) in the construction of the factory, which will spread on 40,000 square metres in 2018 and will be expanded to 65,000 square metres in the next six years.
The company plans to produce bushings and sealings for Audi, BMW, Mini, Volkswagen and Porsche.
