PRISTINA (Kosovo), May 15 (SeeNews) – Kosovo's finance ministry said on Wednesday it signed a grant agreement worth 2 million euro ($2.2 million) with the German government to finance the fourth phase of a project to improve Kosovo's public finances system.
The agreement provides for direct technical assistance to the finance ministry and its agencies as well as to the Kosovo assembly, finance minister Bedri Hamza said in a press release, following the signing of the agreement with German ambassador to Pristina Christian Heldt.
The fourth phase of the project is expected to be implemented over the 2019-2020 period, he added.
“Since the beginning of cooperation in 2009, the aim of this project has been to strengthen Kosovo's good financial governance with a special emphasis on accountability, transparency and effectiveness in the work process,” ambassador Held said.
