August 12 (SeeNews) - North Macedonia's government said that German manufacturer Next.e.GO Mobile plans to invest in a factory for electric vehicles in Tetovo.
The 'multimillion investment' in the Technological Industrial Development Zone (TIDZ) Tetovo will open between 3,000 and 4,000 new jobs, the government said in a press release on Thursday following a cabinet meeting.
At the meeting, the government decided to grant state aid to Next.e.GO Mobile for the project, it said without elaborating.
An e-mail seeking further details of the planned investment from the company and North Macedonia's government went unanswered by the time of publishing this article.
In neighbouring Bulgaria, the economy ministry said last year that it signed an agreement for the construction of an electric car manufacturing plant worth an estimated 280 million levs ($147 million/143 million euro) with the Aachen-based Next.e.Go Mobile.
