July 16 (SeeNews) - Gazprom delivered about 1.2 billion cubic metres (bcm) of natural gas to Serbia from January 1 to July 12, an increase of 5.3% on the year, the Russian company said.
The gas supplies of Gazprom to Serbia are reliable and demand is rising, the company said in a statement on Friday, following a meeting between Gazprom chairman Alexey Miller and Serbia's ambassador to Russia, Slavenko Terzic.
At the meeting, Terzic and Miller reviewed the measures being taken by Serbia to develop its national gas transmission system, according to the statement.
The meeting also addressed the progress in the construction of the TurkStream gas pipeline, with over 1,230 kilometres of pipes already built along the two strings, which is equal to 66% of the length of the pipeline’s offshore section, Gazprom said.
In 2017, Gazprom increased its natural gas exports to Serbia by 21% to 2.119 bcm, company data shows.
