October 17 (SeeNews) - The French government is preparing an agreement with Albania envisaging 600 million euro ($633 million) in French financing for projects to boost the Southeast European country's economy and its energy transition, president Emmanuel Macron said on Tuesday.
“Together with our development agency AFD we want to accompany Albania in its economic reforms, energy and environmental transition,” Macron said during a visit to Tirana, as seen in a video posted on the Albanian prime minister’s Facebook page.
France’s financing for energy and economic development projects in Albania since 2019 has reached 210 million euro, Macron noted.
In June, Albania's energy ministry said it signed a 100-million-euro policy support loan agreement with German state-owned development bank KfW and French development agency AFD to finance reforms in the energy sector.
