TIRANA (Albania), March 25 (SeeNews) – The number of foreign nationals who visited Albania in the first two months of 2019 fell 2.8% year-on-year to 411,117, the country's statistical office said on Monday.
The number of foreign nationals who visited Albania for the purpose of recreation in January-February period fell by 3.5% to 380,726, INSTAT said in a statement.
The largest number of foreign visitors came from Kosovo, Greece, North Macedonia, Montenegro and Italy. The number of visitors from the UK fell the most on an annual comparison basis in the first two months of 2019, by 17.6%.
In the month of February alone, Albania was visited by 201,597 foreign nationals, up 5.8% year-on-year. Of the total, 185,863 came for recreational purposes, up 5.0% compared to February 2018.
In 2018, the total number of foreign visitors to Albania increased by 16%, reaching 5.9 million.
