BELGRADE (Serbia), October 31 (SeeNews) – The number of foreign tourists who visited Serbia in September went up 12.1% on the year to 195,173, statistical office data showed.
The number of overnights spent by foreign tourists in Serbia increased by 16.5% year-on-year, to 397,841 in September, according to data posted on the website of Serbia's statistical office.
In the first nine months of 2019, the total number of foreign tourist arrivals rose 5.8% year-on-year to 1,403,673, while the total number of overnights spent by foreign tourists added 6.0% to 2,835,015.
China was Serbia's biggest feeder market in September, with 18,154 tourists, up 44.6% on the year. Bosnian citizens followed, up 12.7% to 12,332. Visitors from Germany came third, up 20.6% to 12,176.
The number of domestic tourists increased by 6.5% on the year to 148,865 in September, taking the total number of tourists to 344,038, up 9.6%.
