BELGRADE (Serbia), November 1 (SeeNews) – The number of foreign tourists who visited Serbia in September grew 14% on the year, reaching 152,457, statistical office data showed.
The number of overnights spent by foreign tourists in Serbia rose by 16.5% year-on-year, to 299,161 in September, according to data posted on the website of Serbia's statistical office.
In the nine months through September the total number of foreign tourist arrivals rose 18% year-on-year to 1,155,787.
The number of Turkish tourists who visited Serbia in September was the highest, 10,843, up 15% on the year. Bosnian citizens followed, up 7.4% to 9,186. Visitors from Germany came third, up 16% to 8,981.
The number of domestic tourists increased 8.1% on the year to 130,168 in September, taking the total number of tourists to 282,625, up 11%.
