February 19 (SeeNews) - Finnish mining technology firm Outotec on Tuesday said it has won two deals worth more than 21 million euro ($31 million) to provide equipment to the Bulgarian unit of Belgian metals group Cumerio and the Brazilian operation of Australian mineral exploration company Mirabela Nickel.
Bulgaria’s Cumerio Med has awarded Outotec a contract for the expansion of a slag concentrator in its copper smelter in the town of Pirdop, some 80 kilometres east of the Bulgarian capital, Sofia, Outotec said in a statement.
Outotec corporate communications vice president Eila Paatela declined to disclose the value of the separate deals when contacted by SeeNews.
“Outotec's scope of delivery covers basic engineering, supply of grinding and flotation equipment and certain services. The project [in Pirdop] is due to be completed at the end of 2010,” the statement said.
The Brazilian unit of Mirabela Nickel, Mirabela Mineracao do Brasil, has ordered a technology package for its new nickel sulphide concentrator in Brazil, it said.
Outotec is quoted on the OMX Nordic Exchange Helsinki. Cumerio is listed on Euronext Brussels and shares in Mirabela Nickel are traded on the Australian Securities Exchange and Toronto Stock Exchange.
