June 30 (SeeNews) - The European Commission will lend 100 million euro ($113 million) to Moldova to help the country tackle the impact of the coronavirus outbreak, the members of parliament from the governing coalition said.
The Commission and Moldova's government have already agreed on the conditions of the loan, the MPs from the coalition comprising the Democrat Party and the Socialist Party said in a press release on Monday.
The funds will be disbursed by the end of July the latest, the MPs added.
Earlier this month, Moldova extended the state of healthcare emergency until July 15 due to the worsening coronavirus epidemiological situation.
As of Tuesday, the country of 3.5 million people has confirmed 16,357 coronavirus cases including 541 deaths. A total of 9,382 people have recovered, while 24,707 people are in self-isolation.
