March 3 (SeeNews) - The Romanian arm of French infrastructure consultancy and engineering group Egis won a 22.5 million lei ($4.85 million/4.57 million euro) consulting and site supervision contract for electrification and rehabilitation works on the Alesd-Frontiera railway section, Romanian railway operator CFR said.
Egis Romania will coordinate, consult and supervise both the design and execution stages of the project, while ensuring legislative compliance, CFR said in a press release on Thursday.
The contract's estimated duration is 103 months. Financing is secured through grants from Romania’s National Recovery and Resilience Plan.
Egis will focus on a 46.75 km-long stretch of the railway section on the Cluj Napoca-Oradea-Episcopia Bihor line.
Egis has been present on the Romanian market since 1996, providing engineering and consultancy services for various large infrastructure projects.
In 2021, Egis Romania booked a net profit of 42,656 lei on a 13.6 million lei turnover, latest data from the finance ministry shows.
