January 19 (SeeNews) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said it sees Kosovo's economy growing 3.5% in 2015.
EBRD lowered, on Monday, its forecast for Kosovo's 2014 real gross domestic product (GDP) growth to 2.5% from the 3.5% it had forecast in September, it said in the January edition of its Regional Economic Prospects report.
"We have also lowered our growth estimate for Kosovo by a full percentage point (from 3.5 to 2.5 per cent), based on weak first quarter data (not available at the previous round) and the general sluggishness of other (albeit limited) economic indicators," EBRD said.
The EBRD also said it had revised downwards, to 2.2%, the 2015 GDP growth forecast for the Southeast Europe region comprising Albania, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Kosovo, Montenegro, Romania and Serbia. In September, the region's growth in 2014 was projected at 2.6%.
