June 9 (SeeNews) - The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) said it is considering providing two loans worth 10 million euro ($10.7 million) combined to Raiffeisen Leasing Kosovo (RLK) in support of local micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).
The EBRD mulls extending a senior unsecured loan of up to 7 million euro for on-lending to MSMEs to provide lease finance under the Financial Intermediaries Framework (FIF), it said in a project summary document on Wednesday.
The second loan in the amount of up to 3 million euro will be used for on-lending to local MSMEs for investments to improve competitiveness and compliance with technical and environmental EU standards, the bank said in a separate project summary document. The funding would be provided through the EBRD's SME Competitiveness Support Programme (SME CSP).
At least 60% of the use of proceeds will be green (GET) investments, the EBRD added.
RLK is fully owned by Raiffeisen Bank Kosovo, a subsidiary of Austria's Raiffeisen Bank International. RLKO provides lease financing to MSMEs and private individuals.
