BELGRADE (Serbia), November 21 (SeeNews) – Serbian prime minister Aleksandar Vucic said he expects UK-based car parts maker Delphi Packard to open a second factory in the country next year, in the central city of Paracin.
During a visit on Friday to Delphi Packard's existing facility in Novi Sad, in northern Serbia, Vucic said, as quoted in a government statement, that he expects the company to hire 1,500 at the Paracin factory.

Delphi Packard's operations in Novi Sad have significantly reduced unemployment in the area, as the company currently has a staff of 1,500, Vucic pointed out. Delphi Packard is expected to open 500 jobs more in Novi Sad, he added.
In February, Vucic attended the contract signing ceremony for the opening of the plant in Novi Sad, on the premises of the liquidated Neobus factory. Back then, he said that the government along with the local authorities will subsidise the opening of new jobs by Delphi with 18 million euro ($19 million) by the end of 2018.
