June 11 (SeeNews) - The number of broadband users in Croatia fell by 2.18% on the quarter, but rose by 3.80% on the year to 4.5 million at the end of March, according to data from the country's telecommunications regulator, HAKOM.
Revenues from broadband services totalled 1.05 billion kuna ($168 million/142.2 million euro) in the first quarter, down 0.95% compared to the previous quarter and 7.23% higher year on year, data posted on the HAKOM website shows.
There were 1.1 million fixed broadband connections at the end of March, up 0.37% on the quarter and 3.95% higher on the year.
Copper connections were subscribed to by 431,189 users, down 1.30% on the quarter and 4.04% lower on the year. Mobile broadband connections (including UMTS, HSDPA) dropped by 2.98% compared to the October-December period, but rose 3.75% year-on-year to 3.4 million.
Croatia has a population of around 4.2 million.
