November 16 (SeeNews) - Croatia's consumer price inflation quickened to 1.6% year-on-year in October from 1.4% in the previous month, the country's statistical office said on Friday.
On a monthly comparison basis, Croatia's consumer price index (CPI) rose by 0.6% in October, after increasing by 0.8% in September, the Bureau of Statistics said in a monthly inflation report.
Prices of food and non-alcoholic beverages, which have the biggest weight of 27.90% in the consumer basket, rose 0.5% year-on-year last month, after increasing 0.3% in September.
The prices of housing, water, electricity, gas, and other fuels, with a 16.22% weight, added 2.0% year-on-year in October after rising 1.5% in September. The prices of transport services, which have a 12.58% weight, recorded a gain of 6.5% year-on-year in October, compared with an increase of 6.4% in the previous month.
Croatia swung to average annual inflation of 1.1% in 2017, from deflation of 1.1% in 2016.
