June 6 (SeeNews) - Croatia's central bank has increased its projection for the country’s economic growth in 2023 to 2.9% from 1.5%, local media reported on Tuesday.
Employment is on the rise, which means that currently the biggest obstacle to further growth, when you ask companies from all sectors, is the lack of workforce, public broadcaster HRT quoted central bank governor Boris Vujcic as saying on Tuesday,
The central bank expects that inflation will drop to 6.6% by the end of the year and will abate further to almost 3% in the next two years, and later to 2.0%, it added.
In April, the government improved its real economic growth projection for this year by 1.5 percentage points to 2.2%. It assumes 6.6% inflation for 2023.
Croatia's consumer prices rose by an annual average of 10.8% last year, while the country’s real economic growth rate came in at 6.3%, according to previously disclosed data.
