October 25 (SeeNews) - The Croatian government decided on Wednesday to increase the minimum monthly salary applicable for 2024 to 840 euro ($888), from 700 euro set for this year.
The net minimum salary will stand at 677 euro next year, up by more than 100 euro compared to the minimum salary for 2023, labour minister Marin Piletic told a weekly cabinet meeting, as seen in a video of the cabinet meeting published on Youtube.
The government sets the minimum salary for the following year before the end of October of the current year, he added.
The ratio of gross minimum salary to gross average salary has decreased to 45.1% in the first seven months of this year, as gross average salary rose while gross minimum salary remained unchanged, according to the labour ministry’s proposal to raise the minimum salary published on the government’s website.
The average gross salary in the first seven months of this year rose by 13.8% on the year in nominal terms and 3.9% in real terms, according to figures published earlier by the statistics office.
