April 26 (SeeNews) - Croatia's economy ministry said it called a tender to grant 60 million euro ($66 million) for the production of electricity from renewable sources in the processing industries and the heating sector, aiming to encourage local companies to produce their own electricity, reduce dependence on energy procurement and cut costs.
The individual grants per project range from 100,000 euro to 2.0 million euro, the ministry said in a press release last week.

Bids can be submitted by June 19.
The aim of the tender as also to cut the greenhouse gas emissions by 60,000 tonnes per year, to increase production of electricity from renewable sources by 80 MW, to save 140,000 MWh of energy per year and increase the energy storage capacity by 20MWh.
