The tourism industry in Bulgaria is expected to generate a revenue of over 3.0 billion euro ($4.06 billion) this year, equal to 13.6% of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP), the economy ministry said.
Some seven million tourists are expected to visit the country in 2013, the ministry said in a press release on Saturday.
In comparison, revenue from foreign tourism in 2012 amounted to 2.9 billion euro as a total of 6.5 million visited Bulgaria, according to data published on the government's website.
