TIRANA (Albania), March 20 (SeeNews) – Albania confirmed six new cases of the coronavirus disease on Friday, as their number reached 70, deputy health minister, Mira Rakacolli, said.
To date, a total of 732 tests have been conducted for suspected cases of the coronavirus, deputy minister Rakacolli said in a press release.
The ministry reported the first coronavirus-related death in the country on March 11, as the first coronavirus case was confirmed on March 9.
On Thursday, Albania’s prime minister Edi Rama said the government has prepared a $370 million (342.7 million euro) relief package to support the coronavirus-affected sectors of the economy, boost health expenditures as well as help people in need.
Albania has halted passenger transport from all neighboring countries, including flight to Italy and the UK.
