BELGRADE (Serbia), June 7 (SeeNews) - China Machinery Engineering Corporation (CMEC) expressed interest in the construction of gas-fired power plants in Serbia, the Serbian government said.

CMEC is interested in a project for the construction of gas-fired power plants in Serbian cities suffering from high air pollution due to the use of coal as a primary energy source, the president of the country's coordination council for cooperation with China and Russia, Tomislav Nikolic, said on Wednesday, according to a statement issued by the government.
