January 30 (SeeNews) - Romania's Cluj county council said on Tuesday that it will invest 7.4 million euro ($8 million) in the thermal rehabilitation and energy efficiency improvement of the Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases in Cluj-Napoca, which it manages.
The project will be financed through non-reimbursable European funds under the Northwest Regional Programme 2021-2027, the Cluj county council said in a press release.
The planned works include, among others, the installation of a solar photovoltaic array at the hospital. Theinvestment is expected to reduce the annual consumption of primary energy at the hospital by 58.56%, decrease the emission of greenhouse gases by 73.35%, and cut the annual consumption of final energy for heating by 75.94%.
The Clinical Hospital for Infectious Diseases in Cluj-Napoca was established in 1952 and underwent a vast upgrade in 2009.
