April 16 (SeeNews) - Dimitris Sophocleous, the director general of Romania's railway infrastructure operator CFR, resigned after shareholders rejected unanimously his management plan, the Romanian transport ministry said.
The shareholders also appointed a new board of directors at a general meeting, which took place on Monday, the ministry said in a statement on its website. The new management will have to name a director general.
Dimitris Sophocleous was appointed in January as director general of CFR as part of the process for recruitment of managers for 10 state-owned companies in Romania within an independent selection procedure. A consortium of PwC Romania, D&B David and Baias and George Butunoiu Group provides consultancy services for the recruitment of more than 50 managers of 10 companies controlled by the transport ministry.
