November 10 (SeeNews) - Total revenues from tourist overnights spent in Bulgaria increased 28.8% year-on-year in September to 146 million levs ($81.5 million/75 million euro), the statistics office said on Thursday.
Revenues from overnights spent by foreign nationals grew 28.9% on the year in September, while revenues from Bulgarian tourists increased 28.6%, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
The number of tourist overnights in Bulgaria increased by 27.1% on the year in September, reaching 3.1 million.
The largest increase in overnights, by 33.6%, was registered by three-star hotels. Three-star hotels serviced 23.4% of the total number of overnights by foreign tourists and 29.7% of the overnights spent by Bulgarian tourists.
In September, a total of 783,625 tourists stayed in accommodation places in Bulgaria, 53% of them being foreign nationals.
