December 12 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's revenue from tourist overnights amounted to 71.2 million levs ($38.5 million/36.4 million euro) in October, the statistical office said on Monday.
Of the total amount, 42.1 million levs was generated by domestic visitors, while 29.1 million levs came from foreign visitors, the National Statistical Institute (NSI) said in a statement.
The total number of tourist overnights surged by 66% on the year, reaching 1.02 million in October. The overnights spent by Bulgarian residents amounted to about 689,000. The remaining 332,700 were spent by foreign citizens.
In October, the total number of tourists who stayed in accommodation facilities in Bulgaria jumped by 68% year-on-year to 484,500. Of them, 348,700 were Bulgarian residents and 135,800 were foreigners.
