September 14 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian financial leasing company Elana Agrocredit [BUL:EAC] said that it signed deals in August to finance agricultural land purchases worth a total of 11.8 million levs ($6.4 million/6.03 million euro), a stark jump from 635,746 levs recorded in the same month of 2022.
Elana Agrocredit financed the purchase of 470.7 hectares (ha) of land last month, up from 29.65 ha in the prior-year period, the company said in a regular activity report last week.

Month-on-month, the value of deals jumped tenfold, from 1.05 million levs in July, while the land volume rose from 80.5 ha.
The financial leasing company agreed 27 land purchase financing deals in August, compared to 15 in the same month of 2022 and 14 in July.
As of 1513 CEST on Thursday, shares in Elana Agrocredit were trading 1.00% lower at 0.99 levs on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange. The company will rejoin the blue-chip SOFIX index from September 18, following a revision this week by the Sofia bourse operator of the composition of the main equity indices.
