SOFIA (Bulgaria), October 27 (SeeNews) – The share indices of the bourse in Sofia lost ground in higher turnover on Tuesday, bourse data showed.
The SOFIX index, which comprises the 20 most liquid shares trading on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE), lost 1.32% to 461.36 points and the broader BG40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the bourse, fell 1.95% to 124.52 points.
Turnover, excluding block and other pre-agreed deals, rose to 1.47 million levs ($1.1 million/0.75 million euro) from 887,312 levs on Monday.
On Monday, 23 stocks rose, 60 fell and 19 ended unchanged.
Four of the 18 blue chips that traded on Tuesday closed higher, one ended flat and 13 ended lower.
The top SOFIX riser was the lead and zinc smelter OTZK which surged 1.95% to 15.63 levs in a volume of just 41 shares.
Central Cooperative Bank (CCB) was the most liquid stock among the blue chips as 27,725 of its shares were traded. The stock closed 0.6% higher at 1.5 levs.
The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of real estate investment trusts, also fell on Tuesday, shedding 0.42% to 47.85 points. The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, ended 0.97% lower at 350.6 points.
The Dnevnik 20 index, calculated by local business daily Dnevnik from the share prices of the 20 leading companies in terms of liquidity and market capitalisation, fell 1.64% to 66.94 points.
