December 16 (SeeNews) - Bulgarian shares ended mixed in higher turnover on Wednesday, bourse data showed.
The SOFIX index, which comprises the 20 most liquid shares trading on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE), dropped 0.06% to 417.24 points after falling 2.65% on Tuesday.
The BG40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the bourse, rose 0.47% to 116.12 points after dropping 1.84% on Tuesday.
Total turnover, excluding block and other pre-agreed deals, rose to 1.374 million levs ($1.02 million/ 0.702 million euro) from one million levs on Tuesday.
On Wednesday 42 shares gained ground, 26 declined and 13 ended flat .
Five of the 18 SOFIX companies that were traded on Wednesday closed lower, one ended flat and the rest gained ground.
First Investment Bank was the most liquid blue chip on Wednesday with 187,914 shares changing hands. The stock closed 0.09% higher at 2.26 levs.
Central Cooperative Bank was traded in a volume of 86,303 shares. The stock closed 0.57% higher at 1.24 levs.
The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of real estate investment trusts, ended flat at 46.91 points. The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, rose 0.37% to 323.62.
On Tuesday, the BG-REIT declined 1.53% and the BG TotalReturn30 dropped 2.27%.
The Dnevnik 20 index, calculated by local business daily Dnevnik from the share prices of the 20 leading companies in terms of liquidity and market capitalisation, gained 0.12% to 59.37 points after a daily drop of 3.28% on Tuesday.
