November 14 (SeeNews) - All Bulgarian bourse indices ended in negative territory on Monday, extending their decline from the previous trading session, after the candidate of governing GERB party lost the presidential elections and prompted the resignation of the cabinet.
The candidate of main opposition Socialists Rumen Radev won the presidential elections run-off vote on Sunday against the candidate of centre-right GERB party, parliament speaker Tsetska Tsacheva.
The loss of the election led to the resignation of GERB's minority coalition cabinet which prime minister Boyko Borissov submitted to parliament earlier on Monday. In a letter to the MPs Borissov said that his cabinet will continue to perform its functions until a new government takes over and will ensure continuity in the governing of the country.
The blue-chip SOFIX index of the Bulgarian Stock Exchange lost 0.84% to 534.62 on Monday, after falling by 0.43% on Friday.
The broader BGBX40 index, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the BSE, lost 0.69% to 101.31, after decreasing by 0.63% in the previous trading session.
The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of the real estate investment trusts, declined 0.46% to 103.27. On Friday, the index closed 1.03% lower.
The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, fell by 0.49% to 422.74, after decreasing by 0.66% on Friday.
Total stock turnover rose to 932,700 levs ($511,100/476,800 euro) on Monday, from 819,700 levs on Friday. The combined turnover of IHB Electric [BUL:55E] and M+S Hydraulic [BUL:5MH] amounted to more than half of the market's total daily turnover.
Fertilizer producer Neochim [BUL:3NB] was the biggest blue-chip decliner. Its share price 6.36% to 54.500 levs as just 15 shares changed hands.
Industrial Capital Holding [BUL:4I8] led the blue-chip gainers on Monday, adding 2.17% to 4.700 levs as 433 shares were traded.
Diversified conglomerate Chimimport [BUL:6C4] was the most traded blue chip, as 56,462 of the company's shares were traded at an average price of 1.431 levs.
