SOFIA (Bulgaria), December 21 (SeeNews) – The share indices of the Sofia bourse rose in lower turnover on Monday, bourse data showed.
The SOFIX index, which comprises the 20 most liquid shares trading on the Bulgarian Stock Exchange (BSE), rose 2.3% to 422.07 points after gaining 1.16% in the previous trading session.
The BG40, which tracks the 40 most traded shares on the bourse, gained 1.87% to 118.06 points after an increase of 1.36% on Friday.
Total turnover, excluding block and other pre-agreed deals, fell to 2.1 million levs ($1.54 million/1.07 million euro) from 11 million levs on Friday.
On Monday 22 shares fell, 51 gained ground and 18 ended unchanged.
Nineteen out of the 20 SOFIX components were traded on Monday. Sixteen closed higher, two remained flat and just one ended in the red.
The most liquid blue chip was Industrial Holding Bulgaria which added 4.14% to 1.51 levs in a volume of 273,624 stocks.
The top gainer was electric tools producer Sparky Eltos which rose 9.7% to 2.25 levs in a volume of 7,480 shares.
The BG-REIT index, which tracks the performance of real estate investment trusts, closed 1.72% up at 46.67 points. The BG TotalReturn30 index, in which companies with a free float of at least 10% have equal weight, gained 2.24% to 328.13.
On Friday, the BG-REIT ended 1.61% down and the BG TotalReturn30 gained 1.01%.
The Dnevnik 20 index, calculated by local business daily Dnevnik from the share prices of the 20 leading companies in terms of liquidity and market capitalisation, rose 4.04% to 61.31 points after gaining 0.15% on Friday.
