December 15 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria will pay an additional 7.69 million levs ($4.18 million/3.93 million euro) for accommodating Ukrainian refugees and will also provide humanitarian aid of 234,700 levs to Ukraine, the government said.
The 7.69 million levs payment will be made to additionally approved candidates under a programme aimed to provide humanitarian assistance to people displaced as a result of the war in Ukraine, the government said in a statement on Wednesday.
The financing will cover the costs for 521,451 overnight stays, including in places in which meals are provided. The funding will reimburse stays in the month of October.
In parallel, Bulgaria is providing humanitarian assistance to help Ukraine meet its most urgent humanitarian needs during winter months, the government said.
