January 18 (SeeNews) - Bulgaria's government said on Wednesday it decided to extend by 15 years the term of the concession contract with local sand and stone producer Inermat for the Bratya Kunchevi quarry located in Stara Zagora region.
The extension was requested by Inermat in order to use remaining deposits in the concession area, the government said in a statement.
The contract was first concluded in 2006. The concession covers the extraction of andesite tuffs, a type of stone used in construction works.
The quarry is located about 20 kilometres east from the Bulgarian city of Stara Zagora. It produces crushed stone used for railway ballast as well as materials for concrete and surface treatments for roads, airfields and other trafficked areas.
