SARAJEVO (Bosnia and Herzegovina), November 6 (SeeNews) – Bosnia’s state-controlled BH Telecom [SAJ:BHTS] said it signed a deal with Nokia Solutions and Networks and its local arm, Nokia Siemens Networks Sarajevo, for the upgrade of the telco's home location register (HLR) system and the addition of new functions.
The upgrade will enable the introduction of new services, such as M2M communications, cloud services and mobile advertising, BH Telecom said in a statement on its website on Tuesday.
It will also enable the expansion of the capacity of BH Telecom’s mobile client base to 2.6 million, it said.
The contract also foresees the procurement of spare parts for the 220 existing base stations, aimed at minimizing the potential failures of the carrier’s 2G and 3G networks.
