December 4 (SeeNews) - Albania's producer price index (PPI) inched down by an annual 0.01% in the third quarter of 2009 but was 0.7% higher than in the second quarter of the year, the country's statistics office INSTAT said on Friday.
In the second quarter Albania's PPI was 0.5% lower on the year and 0.1% down on the quarter.
The index measured 109.4 points in the third quarter, compared to a 100-points baseline set in 2005, and to 108.6 points in the second quarter.
Producer price index for the mining industry fell 0.6% on the quarter and 0.9% on the year. PPI index for the manufacturing industry rose 1.0% on the quarter but decreased 0.1% on the year, while for the gas, water supply and energy distribution utilities the PPI was not changed on the quarter but was 0.6% higher on the year.
